The self-report measures of depressive affect and the observer measure of depressive affect will be collected pre- and post-treatment in a group of N=200 depressed adults seeking treatment at a public/community mental health center. Observers will use the DAHOS to independently rate videotaped psychotherapy sessions. The three self-report measures are an 8-item measure of depressed affect (namely the Mood Adjectives Check List (MACL)) a 24-item measure of depressive moods (namely the Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI-II)) and a 7-item observer-report measure of depressive affect (namely the Depressive Affect and Hostility Observation Schedule (DAHOS)).
